White River

The major summer activity is white water rafting, and the most exciting time to do this is between November and May. The 30km stretch of river known as the canyon provides some of the most thrilling white water in the country.

Doring River

It’s exciting, stimulating and an adventure you’ll never forget. The perfect venue for a safe, exhilarating weekend of white water rafting. We run the river using 2 man inflatable rafts, which are ideally suited to tackling grade 3 rapids. The rafting season is dependent on sufficient winter rainfall and usually runs from mid-June to mid-September. This heart stopping adventure is on one of South Africa’s most exciting rivers. Being a mere 3 hours from Cape, the Doring River provides an exciting weekend getaway within comfortable driving distance.

Zambezi River

The Zambezi Waterfront, situated approximately four kilometres upstream from the Victoria Falls just opposite Siloka Island, is a new and exciting development. Within the renowned Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park and just 15km upstream from the spectacular Victoria Falls lies the secluded Thorntree River Lodge. With 6 twin rooms and 2 honeymoon suites, Thorntree River Lodge offers its guests a unique and personal African experience all year round. Each unit has its own en-suite facilities and all are beautifully appointed. The perfect base for experiencing the white waters of the mighty Zambezi.

Orange River

Join us on an unforgettable African river adventure on the Orange River (Gariep River), passing through the breathtaking arid Richtersveld scenery. Under the guidance of experienced and qualified guides, you will enjoy an adventure not easily matched. Enjoy scrumptious meals, raging campfires and great company as you overnight under the starlit African sky. To top it all the water is warm and the weather naturally perfect all year round. The Orange River, South Africa’s largest river, rises in the Drakensberg range some 15 km’s south of Mont-aux-Sources and flows 2340km westwards until it reaches the Atlantic Ocean at Oranjemund.

Breede River

The Breede River (also known as Breë River), is located in the Western Cape. Travelling inland north from Cape Town, the river runs in a west to east direction. This is a popular location for river rafting tours. The gently flowing water and the absence of crocodiles, hippos and mosquitoes make this a popular weekend destination. We launch about 20km south of Swellendam.

Tugela River

The Tugela River experience is based at a Bush Camp and Tented Lodge near Weenen. Established in 1984, the stone and tented camp is tucked away on the banks of the mighty Tugela River, in the heart of the Thukela Biosphere reserve in Kwa-zulu Natal. In addition to white water rafting - abseiling, 4X4 routes and horse rides are also available. For those not interested in adventure activities, the camp is ideally suited for guided walks, game viewing, bird watching, fishing or merely sitting in the shade of a thorn tree with a good book. Classic campfire cuisine!
